English for the Global Citizen Course

English for the Global Citizen is one of the most popular programs under English Language Institute in UBC. The program we chose for our participants will improve not only their conversation skills but increase the vocabulary pool that is applicable in everyday life. Students will have a great opportunity to make friends from around the world and collaborate with other participants under the direction of experienced language instructors. Through group projects, lectures, field trips, presentations, and guest speakers, ELI will provide our participants a very different learning experience.Topics such as valued issues, ethnicity and case studies are encouraged by teachers to approach them in a global perspective. The difficulty of the program can vary from elementary school to proficiency levels depending on the average level that students score in placement test on the first day of the program.
